Have you ever wished you could have more hours in your day? Have you tried waking up earlier but feel so sluggish and exhausted? Yet the only thing you have done is opened your eyes?

Well I’m here to help 🙂

There are a few things you need to make sure you incorporate into your new day to day routine. It’s as simple as wake up, make the bed, drink a glass of water and get your body moving.

First things first, make sure you are allowing yourself to get at least 7 hours of sleep. Studies show that adults need 7 hours of sleep to function properly. If you want to start being a morning person, make sure you are setting yourself a bed time that is at least 7 hours before you need to wake up.

As soon as your alarm goes off whether it’s on your phone or an alarm clock, turn it off and jump out of bed. Literally jump. If you use your phone as an alarm, make sure you don’t check your notifications and social media. They will still be there later so don’t sweat it.

Once you’ve jumped out of bed, make it. Making the bed straight away will ensure you won’t get back into it as it allows you to feel like you have accomplished your first task for the day.

Next, go and fill up a glass of water and drink it. Having a glass of water first thing in the morning has so many health benefits, it’s crazy. Some examples include boosting your metabolism, improving your skin, strengthening your immune system … The list just goes on.

Now that you’ve got up, made the bed and had your glass of water, you need to make sure you are moving your body in some shape or form. Whether you have time for a 30 minute workout or a 5 minutes of stretching. Anything that gets you moving is a positive.

Working out in the morning can help wake you up and give you more energy as it releases endorphins and dopamine. It’ll get your blood pumping through the blood stream and give you a happy boost of energy. It is also just a very healthy habit to get into.
